anyone tried storing bottle conditioned beer on its side for extended periods of time? i have a large wine rack and would like to move some 750 ml bottles from my conditioning shelf to the wine rack to create more space. these are beers that i am saving to age a little. if i allow ample time upright before opening will the yeast settle out again sufficiently? i've had bottles tip over and a day or two in the fridge seems to be enough to get the bulk of the yeast to settle back out. if any one has tried this, i would appreciate the feedback.

altho i wouldn't put tipped over beer in the fridge unless i was planning to drink it.

Re: storing beer...
Mon, April 13, 2009 - 8:31 AMI've had great luck storing beer lying down. When pouring a horizontally stored beer, I simply rotate the sediment side up and pour slooooowwly and have no trouble.
